Lesson 6.6 - Governance Drill

Chapter 6 trains Dealers to turn shift work into manageable operating discipline: accept handover clearly, escalate with structure, respect authority boundaries and leave a handover that the next shift can actually use.

Chapter Review

  • Shift start control and handover confirmation.
  • Live monitoring rhythm.
  • Escalation writing and communication quality.
  • Audit trail and ownership.
  • SOP discipline and authority boundaries.
  • New Dealer supervision, review and continuous improvement.

Scenario Output

During night shift, XAUUSD volatility increases and Bridge audio alerts show several large orders and quick close-outs. The previous shift left an open Quote Source B delay issue, but the handover note did not name a responsible person. At the same time, someone suggests temporarily changing one group’s trading conditions.

Produce a shift governance and handover record.

Expected Output

Quote / Bridge / Exposure status:

Behavior Standard

  • At handover, confirm open items, evidence location, current status and next update time from the previous shift.
  • Audio alerts are observation signals only; they are not client conclusions.
  • Large orders, quick close-outs and repeated trading should be recorded as order facts: symbol, volume, time, holding period and pattern.
  • When the on-duty Dealer needs to act beyond authority, the Dealer should notify the Shift Leader for confirmation.
  • Abnormal trading, quote anomalies, execution impact or any item without a clear Shift Leader or follow-up person should also be reported to the Shift Leader.
  • Group conditions, spread, leverage, symbol control and client restrictions must not be changed without approval.

Example Output

Handover time: Night shift 22:00
Open items: Previous shift left a Quote Source B delay issue, but no responsible person or next update time was recorded.
Quote / Bridge / Exposure status: XAUUSD volatility increased. Bridge alerts show large orders and quick close-outs. Exposure direction and concentration require continued review.
Large-order and quick-close observation: Record order time, symbol, volume, holding period, account group and repeated pattern. Do not conclude client intent.
ownership gap: Quote Source B delay requires a named technical or quote lead. Risk-related action requires Shift Leader confirmation.
Current action: Add evidence, review Bridge log, order pattern, quote-source status, Exposure and previous handover note.
Items requiring Shift Leader confirmation: Quote Source B Shift Leader / follow-up, escalation need, any temporary control action and whether abnormal trading observation requires further review.
Actions not allowed independently: No self-directed group-condition, spread, leverage, symbol-control or client-restriction changes.
Monitoring rhythm: Increase review frequency during high volatility and update immediately upon material change.
Required handover content: Current status, evidence location, Shift Leader / follow-up, open risk, notified parties and next update time.
Next update: Within 30 minutes, or immediately if XAUUSD volatility, order pattern or quote-source status changes materially.

Pass Standard

The trainee should be able to explain what they may observe, record, review and escalate, while recognizing that high-impact control actions require confirmation from the Shift Leader or an authorized approver.
